We try to support the vizsla charities by selling cakes at each of our whizzes - these will be sold from the rear of our truck after each walk.

Due to the success of the 2013 sponsored walk we will be repeating this on the 5th October 1030am by walking from  Brancaster to Wells (12.9 miles)

20th October - Sponsored whizz walk Norfolk

As part of our fund raising efforts for vizslas who require help financially I have decided to organise a sponsored whizz walk.

Just as a reminder we (as well as other vizz whizz groups around the country) raise money for; vizslas within our groups that are very ill and require money towards their vets bills, vizslas who need financial support from being rescue within the UK plus the vizslas who we see overseas who require financial help in being homed in the UK.

It will take place on the 20th October and we will start our walk at 10:30am.

We will be walking some of the North Norfolk Coastal path - from Brancaster to Wells which is 12.9 miles.  The whole route can be found here however I will provide exact details of where we are meeting at Brancaster nearer the time (and when I've managed to do a recky).

If you wish to leave your car at Wells then you can get a coastal hopper bus (dog friendly) to Brancaster from 9:43am and then walk back to your car or you can park at Brancaster and get the bus back (its up to you).

I will provide maps and I am going to arrange some support re. tea, coffee and refreshments (you will need to bring your own lunch but I am going to source some packed lunches from Burnham Deepdale). 

To support this walk it is £10 per person plus any money you wish to raise for our charity.  To enter please email me the following details:-

This was isn't just limited to vizsla owners, please feel free to spread the word to anyone that likes walking, with or without a dog!

Viz whizz dates for the rest of the year

As time is flying by I thought I'd provide the dates and locations for the rest of the year.

September - 31st August 11am Dunwich beach - we will meet in the car park.
Extra viz whizz date - 8th Sept 2pm Dunwich beach - we will meet in the car park.
October - 5th October 11am Thetford High Lodge - please meet at the green at the start of the yellow walk which is on the right hand side (please see map and look where the number 44 is)
November - 2nd November 11am Holkham beach - we will meet at the top of the car park

To help raise money for the rescue vizslas I will be making cakes to buy.

I am also thinking of organising a sponsored dog walk along some of the Norfolk Coastal path one weekend - if anyone is interested please let me know.

August Viz whizz

Our August viz whizz will take place on the 3rd August 11am at High Lodge Thetford.

PLEASE NOTE - due to the number of vizslas we have attending now I am a little concerned about meeting on the main green.  For this reason we will all meet on the green which is on the right hand side as you start yellow path walk (please see map and look where the number 44 is).  This area is always empty and we can allow the dogs to have a play while everyone arrives.

Please be aware that although quite shaded at the forest it may be hot so please bring water for your dog along the way.

I will make cakes for purchasing afterwards (out of the back of our truck) of which all funds goes in to the East of England charity bank account.

July 2013 viz whizz date

Thanks to everyone who came along to our June viz whizz.

We had around 37 vizslas (and honorary vizslas) who helped raise over £60 for our charity account.

The July walk (6th July) will take place at Brandon Country Park.  We haven't walked here before but I know many of you like a bit of change so my mission is to find other locations for variation.

We will meet in the car park area for 11am and leave for our walk at 11:15am.  Please arrive promptly as the dogs get agitated hanging around eager to play with their buddies.

We will do the red walk http://www.brandoncountrypark.co.uk/walks.html and if the weather is nice enough say for drinks and food afterwards.

I will also bring cakes and hopefully we will have some dog treats again which can be purchased by a donation to our charity account.

2013 vizsla meet up dates for the East of England vizsla group

Our February Viz whizz was a record to date - 40 vizslas!

Everyone had a great time, however due to the size of our group can I please ask everyone to keep a closer eye on their dog(s).

The dates and locations for the next few months are listed below.  To try and vary it a bit I have added a few beach walks in with every other month back at Thetford forest (as it is an ideal location for all the counties we cover)
