January and February vizsla meet ups 2012

Our first 2012 vizsla meet up will take place at 11am on the 7th January 2012.

We will meet at Thetford Forest High Lodge  on the green.

While organising this one I thought it would be helpful to arrange the February meet up too.

November and December Viz Whizz dates for East of England

I've been slack since our last meet up in October, sorry!

We had amazing weather and Southwold beach was very much like a beach resort in warmer climates - we had fab time.

Our next viz whizz will be Sunday 6th November and our December one will be Saturday 10th December.  On both meet ups we will be meeting at Thetford Forest for 11am.

Please let me know if you intend on joining us for either or both walks.  The more the merrier!

Special Viz Whizz Derbyshire October 2011

A few of us are heading to Derbyshire for the weekend of the 28th October and have decided to organise a viz whizz for the 29th October.

The ones going from the East of England will be staying here on the 28th and 29th October.  There are still some cottages available so if you fancy a few days away please book directly and send me an email to let me know.

The Derbyshire Special Vizsla Meet Up will meet at the car park of the start of the High Peak Trail at 12pm on Saturday 29th October 2011.  Colin my friend has kindly organised the route (as you will see from the High Peak Trail link) and we have somewhere to stop for drinks and lunch.

We have vizslas coming from across the whole of the UK so the more the merrier.

October Viz Whizz East of England 2011

Our September viz whizz was our last for the summer visits to the beach.

East of England Viz whizz - end of the Sept walk

As always we were incredibly lucky with the weather and had 13 (I think!) vizslas including some newbies.  Two newbies worth a special mention were Cracker, the 5 month old vizsla we all wanted to take home and Coco the 'chocolate vizsla' who is vizsla/pointer cross.

Our October vizsla meet up will be at Southwold beach (the top end next to the pier) and will take place on 1st Ocotber at 11am.

We will meet in the car park to the left of the pier.

While writing this blog a few of us are going to Derbyshire for a few days for vizsla walks and to meet up with some vizsla friends from further afield.  Further details can be found here.

September Vizsla meet up

We had a great time on Holkham beach for our August vizsla meet up.  

We had  lots of new vizslas come along including a very pretty wire haired puppy who we all wanted to take home.

I can't remember how many vizslas we had at this viz whizz but it was at least 10 and as you can see from the videos (kindly supplied by Tiffany) they had a great time.

Our furthest traveling vizsla came from Northampton and our furthest traveling human who came along was Tiffany from California USA! so our East of England group should be renamed the International Vizsla meet up I think!

Our September meet up will take place at Holkham beach again.  I think while we are (hopefully) still in the summer season we should enjoy the beach!


The date is the 3rd September, 11am at Holkham Beach car park.

August vizsla meet up

We had a great time at Walberswick beach and I have so many photos to share with you.

After asking our regulars about their favourite meet up place our next vizsla meet up will take place at Holkham Beach in Norfolk on the 6th August at 11am.  Further details can be found here

July Meet up details and photos from our June beach visit

Our June meet up took us to Holkham Beach in North Norfolk.  Although a little windy the weather was very kind to us and we had beautiful sunshine.

Along with our usual loyal vizsla group we also had some special guests from Lemington Spa this time plus a couple of first time viszla whizzers who really enjoyed it.

I think we had around 14 vizslas (you can try and count from the photos!) but all the vizsla's had a wonderful time and I would imagine slept well for the rest of the day.

June Vizsla meet up - we are going to beach!

After spending the colder months meeting up regularly at Thetford Forest many of you have requested I arrange one of our monthly meet ups at the beach.

As we seem to be blessed with wonderful weather I've decided it's going to be June (I bet it will rain now!).

April East of England Vizsla meet up photos and stuff

Our April (Easter meet up) went really well.  Although not our normal large crowd of happy vizslas due to many being away on holiday we all had a great time.  We were also really pleased to be joined by a special guest - Charlie this Vizsla and his family from Derbyshire.

April East of England Vizsla meet up and photos from our March meet up

At our meet up today a small child said with excitement to his parents 'An army of dogs' as he and his family were met with our 16 vizslas coming in the opposite direction.  Our largest turn out to date it was great to see so many vizslas, including a wirehaired and Ellie the adopted Patagonian Vizsla together.

As our group grows ever bigger we were also joined and welcomed a couple of people who are looking at buying a vizsla in the future but wanted to know and see more about the breed before they make the big decision.

After our usual walk through the forest and quick photo (which is always the hardest bit!) we had a coffee and Paws (one of our newbie members) was very happy that with his charming looks I couldn't but help share my chilli nacho's with him.

We had a great time at February's vizsla meet up.

January East of England Viz whizz

We had our first East of England Vizsla meet up of 2011 over the weekend.  The day started with rain but by the time we all met up at Thetford Forest the rain had retired and it didn't take long for the sun to come out ready for us to enjoy a long walk.

12 vizslas joined us who travelled from Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire.

Our new youngest member was Rozsi, a 5 month old female and another newbie who had a great time was Dylan a 7 year old male.
